Basic Patrolling Competency: IMT, Hand & Arm Signals, Patrolling Formations, Attack Formations & AR15 manipulation.
Land Navigation: ability to use compass and read military map day & night (civilian orienteering ok)
Working knowledge & applied experience on at least ONE skill in EACH Tactical Task category:

Enabling OPS- Area Recon, Point Recon, Screening Ops, Covering Ops, Guard Ops, Passage of Lines
Defensive OPS- Area Defense, Retrograde Delay/Withdrawal, Mobile Defense, Patrol Base, Objective Rally Point

Course Descriptions:
Winter Warrior Course is the entry point for operating in cold weather regions & the Winter Forge FTX. The WWC is focused on individual & team equipment, tasks as well as cold weather knowledge.
Winter Leaders Course is for returning Winter Warrior Course participants who want to expand their capabilities into the leadership, planning & higher organizational tasks of the fire team & squad leaders. The WLC will enhance your abilities to plan & lead successful patrols in cold weather regions.
