Course Length: 2 hours
Location: 2425 S Crysler AVE #5 Independence, MO 64052
Course is taught by current EMTs & combat arms veterans of the GWOT.
Civilians need basic training in Bleeding Control principles so they are able to provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders are able to take over care of an injured person. Due to many situations, there may be a delay between the time of injury and the time a first responder is on the scene. Without civilian intervention in these circumstances, preventable deaths will occur.
The Bleeding Control Basic (BCon) Course v. 2.0 is designed for individuals who have little or no medical training but who may be called upon as immediate responders to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control to a victim of traumatic injury prior to the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS) or in an austere environment.
You will learn:
Identifying the need for hemorrhage control in extremity, junctional & chest/abdominal injuries.
Use of common tourniquets.
Use of guaze & kerlix.
Hands on wound simulators.
